Officers with the North Charleston (SC) Police Department faced off with their brothers and sisters in the fire service in a contest in which participants were armed with glazing brushes and frosting tubes in an event aimed at raising awareness about autism.

According to WCSC-TV, the North Charleston Fire and Police Departments participated in a cookie decorating contest on Thursday, raising more than $500 for autism awareness and programs to help those on the ASD Spectrum.

The event was held at a local franchise of the Panera Bread Company, which is selling puzzle piece cookies with proceeds being donated to autism awareness.

The franchise started this campaign in 2011 and has raised almost $2 million for the cause.
